PA FISHING LICENSE

TOURIST

In 1935, the first non resident tourist fishing license was issued. This license was valid for only three days of consecutive fishing. It offered the angler a cheaper alternative to purchasing a season-long fishing license. I am not aware of any 1935 licenses in existence. The 1936 tourist license is the first one a collector can expect to encounter. It is a rare license as less than 2,000 was issued. In 1948, these licenses were switched to give the angler five consecutive days of fishing. These licenses were issued in a button form until 1959. Like the resident license, in 1960, they went to a small paper format. However, many 1960s tourist licenses are difficult to locate. The 1974 and 1975 were issued as a button and then returned to a paper license. I would value a 1935 license at $3,500. The 1936 at $1000. 1937 at $450. 1938 $400. The rest of the 1930s and 1940s $75 - $350. The 1950s $65 – 100. The paper 1960s licenses $25 - $45.

HELP !! THIS COLLECTION STILL NEEDS A FEW OF THESE LICENSES $$$$
